Centre of International Program holds the 65th International forum on the topic of Design Thinking on May 29th, 2018.
Dr. Ricardo Altimira, a multicultural professor and consultant with 25 years lecturer experience in Management Skills, Innovation and Entrepreneurship is invited and kindly introduces design thinking as a creative problem-solving process. Students from CIP program, Department of Management and also a delegation of Mexican Summer Program students attended the lecture.
In order to practice the methodologies of design thinking, students are required to develop a team proposal on the United Nation Program to help females in poverty to improve their living standard. Students discussed in groups and present their proposal to the all, showing their understanding on design thinking. Even though the discussion time given was short, the proposal students provided won the praise from Dr. Ricardo Altimira.
Since fall 2016, CIP has worked with business school to introduce Design Thinking method to Donghua Students in different methods and format, such as DT club, workshops, courses, and competitions. Inviting experts in the filed will help students have further understand how Design Thinking can be adapted for innovation. Donghua University will continue to offer similar activities for students and faculties who are interested in innovation methods.
