What to expect from an Internship?

In order to consistent with the strategy of "Better Career Service for International Students in Donghua", the 44th ICES International Forum chose Internship as the topic. The senior consultant from Shanghai Chiway Education International Center, Mr. Neo Xian, gave his personal perspective on the “what is Internship” based on his own experience and introduce the oversea internship opportunities available to DHU International Students.
Mr. Xian used to be an exchange student studying in US and working as an intern in the position of assistant to Hotel Manager in USA. However, before he really started his responsibility as an assistant, he was asked to make burgers and pizzas for several weeks. Based on his personal experience, he told students to correct the perspective of the Internship. First, the internship position is not as important as students thought, Intern’s working attitude is more important. Students need to treat every responsibility seriously no matter how boring it is. Second, do not play a solo as an intern. Make as many friends as you can. Third but not last, develop one's communication skills, which Neo believe is more important than the position itself.
Next Mr. Xian used some data to demostrate the severe competition in talent market. He indicated that world economic trends requires the talents have "a sense of internationalization, vision and ability to achieve international standards. and only by adapting to the international environmentdevelopment , those who have a insight into the development of the enterprise can stand out from the competition.
